5 minutes. Every Monday.

The Savvy Entrepreneur

Hi Reader,

Every Monday I bring you one thing worth knowing and one thing worth trying.

Let's get into it.

The big thought...

Some days you search Google and the answer is right there. Other days it's vague, and you're exactly where you started.

Is AI making search better? Sometimes. But it's moving so fast that sometimes I think even the big companies can't keep up.

So you ask an AI chat instead, Claude, Gemini or ChatGPT. Now you get even more answers. Sometimes more than you know what to do with.

This is how your customers search now too. Sometimes Google. More and more, an AI chat, the one they talk to every day. The one that already knows them before they finish typing.

And don't let anyone scare you with this. Google still runs the show, still around nine in every ten searches. But a year ago it added its own AI answer to a sliver of them, the Google Overview. Today it's closer to every one in four.

But here is what most of us miss. These tools are not neutral. They're already trained on a fixed set of information, then shaped by what their users are searching, then Internet trends, then tuned to your customer's own preferences. Based on all of that, the AI chat decides what is being seen. The one your customer trusts has its own preferences, and they aren't always yours.

You could spend months trying to crack how each one works. You could test every tool and chase every new tactic. You can make this as complicated as you want.

Or you can come back to the one question that has always mattered.

Where is your customer? And in the moment you are found, are you landing as clearly, unmistakably you, or as one more generic result that is scrolled right past?

Picture two business coaches. One "helps entrepreneurs grow." The other "helps women rebuild after leaving a corporate career in Vancouver." A small difference. But to an AI chat, it's everything. It works with the end in mind, not the next step. Your customer won't type two words. The whole situation will be, probably dictated through voice, about who she wants, what she needs, how she wants it delivered, even where. Then the AI chat gathers everything it can find on you and builds its answer. If it can't find what makes you you, she may never see you. But when your message is consistent and clear, including testimonials, articles, posts, all saying the same clear thing, it connects the two of you in seconds.

And here is why this matters more now than ever. Trust is thin. Anyone can generate a polished post. Nowadays a voice or a face can be cloned easily. So people are leaning on the one thing that's hard to fake, the real experience, the consistent person behind the business. Wherever you work, you should have your own personal brand. This stays with you.

The tools will constantly keep changing and honestly you’ll make yourself crazy trying to keep up. The human connection doesn't change. Ensure you are clearly and consistently yourself, everywhere you show up, so that the right person, your customer, can't mistake you for anyone else. We've come full circle. From all the tricks and SEO tactics, back to the simplest thing of all: a clear message, and a personal brand only you can carry.

From the Studio

I used to own an SEO (Search Engine Optimization) company. Years ago, before any of this.

So when people ask me how to get found in AI chats now in tools such as Claude, Gemini, or ChatGPT, I have to smile. The tools have completely changed but the question hasn't moved an inch.

It was always three things. Where is your customer? Can they find you? And when they do, did you give them what you promised?

Here is what's new. All three now run on trust. AI is everywhere. Faces get cloned, voices get faked, a polished post takes ten seconds to generate. So before your customer believes anyone, they are asking one quiet question: is this a real person? Your personal brand is the answer to that question.

Four small moves make you findable and believable at the same time. Start here.

1. Write the answer, not the keyword. People don't type "women business coach" into an AI chat. They tell it the whole story, the way they'd tell a friend. In a search like this:

"I spent 15 years in corporate and I'm finally going out on my own, working from home. I'm not sure how to translate my skills. Can you recommend the top three business coaches in Vancouver who help women make exactly this move?"

This is also where testimonials quietly do double duty. You may think they're there to build trust, and they are. But they're also content the AI chat reads. A client describing how you helped her leave her corporate job is using the exact words your next client will type. That story helps the right person find you, and shows them you're the real thing.

2. Tell real stories. Facts tell people what you do. Stories show them you're real. So write up an actual client case, where she started, what you did together, where she landed. Use real details. Name the messy middle, not just the tidy ending. Two things happen at once. Your customer sees herself in it and leans in. And the AI chat, scanning for signs of a genuine human with lived experience, finds them all over the page. A made-up brand can't tell a true story. You can.

3. Bring your offline trust online. This is the one most people miss. You've earned years of trust that lives where an AI chat can't see it. The referral passed over coffee. The repeat client who never writes a review. The reputation everyone knows but no one ever typed anywhere. If it isn't online, it doesn't exist to a chatbot. So move it somewhere it can be found. A real bio. The years you've actually done this. The clients you've actually served. The kind words, finally written down.

4. Claim the free tools already built for you. You don't need fancy software for this. The platforms hand you trust signals for free, and most people never pick them up. Set up your Google Business Profile, it feeds Google's AI answers and Gemini directly, so a complete, active profile is one of the clearest ways to be both seen and trusted. Ask a happy client for a Google review. Fill in your LinkedIn like a real person, not a résumé. These are the public, checkable signals these tools lean on to decide who's real and worth recommending.

Getting found is only half of it. The other half is the part SEO never owned: when she lands, do you give her what you promised? That part was always yours.

Prompt of the Week

This one we built right here in the Studio, straight from today's issue. Most "personal brand" advice leaves you with a vague feeling and a long list. I’m a big believer in one step. This always leads to more.

Copy this, fill in the brackets, and paste in your link or your copy:

PERSONAL BRAND

You are helping me strengthen my personal brand so I'm easier to find and trust when someone searches for a business like mine using an AI chat (Claude, Gemini, or ChatGPT).

Here is my business:

  • What I do and exactly who I help: [BE SPECIFIC: "I'm a business coach for women leaving corporate careers to work from home"]
  • Where I'm based: [YOUR CITY OR REGION, or "online, no location" if that fits]
  • What I want more of: ["discovery calls," "the right-fit clients," "referrals"]

Here is what's online about me right now:
[OPTION 1 — paste your website, About page, or LinkedIn URL here]
[OPTION 2 — or paste your bio, homepage, or About page text here]

Now do this, in order:

  1. Score me. On a scale of 1 to 10, rate my personal brand on four things: clarity (is it obvious who I help and how?), specificity (am I memorable, or generic?), trust signals (real bio, stories, testimonials, proof I'm a real person), and consistency (does my message sound the same everywhere?). One sentence on why for each score.
  2. Show me the gap. If a stranger asked an AI chat to recommend someone like me, would I get named? Tell me honestly why or why not, based only on what's actually there.
  3. Give me my top three moves. The three highest-impact things I can do right now to strengthen my personal brand and get found. Put them in order of impact. For each one, tell me exactly what to do and show a quick before-and-after using my own words.

Keep it plain. No jargon. Assume I'm smart but not technical, and I have about an hour. Ask me one question at a time until you are 95% confident of the question before you start.
─ ─ ─

Built in the Studio. Yours to keep.

Start there. Just one thing. That is the move.

You've got this. And now you've got the tools to prove it.
