Hi Reader,
Every Monday I bring you one thing worth knowing and one thing worth trying.
This week:
→ Why your Meta ad might be stuck (and why that's okay)
→ Two reads to get your setup right
→ Five things to check before your first lead ad
→ A prompt that walks you through setup, step by step
→ P.S. An invitation, if you'd rather not do this alone
Let's get into it.
The big thought...
A client's new Facebook Page sat on hold for seven days this month.
We had drilled down to their ideal customer. I even created a customer avatar that was sooo perfect. Nothing was wrong with the business. Nothing was wrong with the ad.
We had added a second Facebook Page admin a little too soon, and Meta paused everything while it checked who we were.
Sighhhh…
You know that feeling when you're so ready to hit Go Live, and everything stops?
It was seven days before the Page could connect to the Meta business account.
So this week is all about getting ready before you launch. Here is what I want you to know if you are thinking about running Meta ads: setup always takes longer than anyone tells you.
When I taught this exact Meta set up to my Digital Marketing class of 20ish adult learners, about a third of them hit a wall that took days to clear. Wait periods. Security checks. Facebook Pages that would not connect. Instagram accounts that would not connect.
It's easy to assume that because Meta owns Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and the Meta ad accounts, everything would connect easily. Well, sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn't.
We never found the exact cause for most of them. Meta is testing so many variables at once that the same step can work for one person and stall for the next.
Our instincts, as humans, are to push through. Maybe make a second Page. Try another account. Look for a workaround.
Don't. It's the last thing you should do.
Starting over rarely fixes it. It usually just adds more to the review pile.
Walk away. Let it resolve. Come back in a few hours, or a few days.
The wait is not a sign that you did it wrong. It's literally just part of the setup.

I'm right in the middle of setting up a crazy amazing Meta lead ads for a client right now. Between that project and my classroom, here are the five things I always check before anyone touches an ad.
This is Meta 101. Start here.
- You need a Facebook Page, even if you never send anyone there. The Page is the name on your ad. It does not need to be busy. It just needs to exist.
- Create the Page inside your Meta business account, not before it. In Meta Business Suite, go to Settings, then Pages, then Add, then Create a new Facebook Page. Your business owns it from day one, so there is nothing to transfer later, and you'll run into fewer delays.
- Add people slowly. A new admin can trigger a security review. Get the basics connected first. Then bring in your team.
- Put a privacy policy page on your website. Meta will not publish a lead ad without the link. Open it on your phone to make sure it works.
- Decide where your leads will go. It’s important that you reply to these leads almost immediately. Automation is your friend here. There are many optoins, but Zapier is the most common bridge between Meta and your inbox or CRM, and it's the one Meta's own help centre points to. It does need a paid plan for to set this up. If your CRM connects to Meta directly, use that instead. There are other options but look for one that communicates with your customer immediately.
Then give yourself a buffer week before your launch date. You will probably need it.
Industry Note: Alex Hormozi, an entrepreneur who shares no-nonsense monetization strategies, had a client that paid a team member very well and their only job was to answer 3 lead calls a day any time of the day 7 days a week. Their sales went through the roof!
Prompt of the Week
Setup tutorials are long, and Meta changes its menus often. This prompt turns setup into a conversation. Your AI walks you through one step at a time and catches what's missing before Meta does.

"I'm setting up my first Meta lead ad for my [type of business]. Act as a patient setup guide for a beginner. Walk me through a pre-launch checklist one item at a time: Facebook Page, business portfolio, ad account, payment method, privacy policy, lead form, and where my leads will go. After each item, ask me if it's done. If I'm stuck, give me the simplest next step. Don't move on until I confirm."

One note: menu names change fast. If your screen doesn't match what AI tells you, describe what you see and ask again. Many times, I’ll take a screenshot of where I am and ask it to provide me steps from here.
One thing to understand. One thing to try. That's the move.
You've got this. And now you've got the tools to prove it.

P.S. If you'd rather not wait out Meta on your own, I'm inviting three founding clients to set this up with me. I build the framework with you: your Page, your lead ad, and the workflow that gets every lead a reply. You launch the ad. Simply reply to this email if you'd like the details.
